October 5, 2020: Diveheart is one of Jack Kagan Foundation’s proactive charities supporting physically challenged and disabled veterans, which we have vetted and supported in recent years. Jim Elliot, Diveheart’s President, shared this video of their organization receiving the 2020 national ShareCare Award October 5th–presented by Dr. Oz to the organization’s Executive Director Tinamarie Hernandez. As Tinamarie says in her acceptance: “Together, we’ll continue to do great things.”
Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB)
July 26, 2020: CRAB celebrated the 30-year anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act Sunday by sailing in the Annapolis harbor and Ego Alley. Shown here is the third boat, the Andrea, donated to CRAB by the Jack Kagan Foundation.
July 26, 2020 and recurring monthly: Family Sail Sunday at Sandy Point State Park. Volunteer skippers took disabled sailors for a 45 minute sail on the Chesapeake Bay.
August 15, 2020: Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) held their CRAB Cup (the first crown in the Triple Crown of Charity Sailing), modified to comply with pandemic regulations.
Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA)
August 1-31, 2020: The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) hosted their annual summer Santa Fe Indian Market, but due to the Coronavirus it was held via a virtual platform for the first time in their 98-year history. Access to all the artists, celebrations, ceremonies, dances, and presentations is available through the SWAIA website. This was a very ambitious undertaking, and the Jack Kagan Foundation is proud to support their efforts.
